Freisa, like its cousins Dolcetto and Barbera, is a local workhorse grape of the Piedmont. For some reason it hasn't caught on in America. Wines like this one could change all that. Pelissero's has Dolcetto-like lift and purity with a little extra earthy kick. Black cherry carries the day.
